Job Summary

THE OPPORTUNITY


The Worcester Railers HC of the ECHL are in our third season and hiring an additional sales person to foucs on selling group tickets and season memberships to fans.

This is a sales job.  Everyone wants to work in sports, but not everyone can sell.  If, however, you want to be a superstar in the sports business, we have an opportunity that will put you on the path toward superstardom.

This position will also service existing accounts, work all home games and cultivate relationships with their season membership clientele. Create new ideas to increase membership sales and retention, perform basic office functions as needed and be expected to attain goals of the ticket and membership sales department each season. The candidate will report to the Vice President of Tickets and Hockey Club Memberships.

HOW TO GET THERE
To become a superstar with teams, you need to know that it all starts with tickets.  Tickets are the lifeblood of sports.  Once you learn tickets you can learn anything in the business and have an opportunity to move up or onward.  In just two seasons, the Railers have had two previous AE's promoted from within, and two other AE's that landed managerial jobs in the NCAA.


QUALIFICATIONS
You should have strong communication skills (you have to like to talk to people) and a willingness to listen and learn. 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Hardworking, dependable and motivated self-starter

  • Exceptional interpersonal and problem solving skills

  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and strong customer service skill



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Make daily sales calls to generate new business through group and season memberships.

  • Create and develop new sales concepts to generate new revenue streams.

  • Develop, implement and maintain sales campaigns utilizing direct mail, cold calling, appointment scheduling, and ticket driven revenue promotions.

  • Generate own leads by prospecting respective sales area.

  • Work all home games, additional membership events, and off site sales opportunities as needed for the purpose of developing new prospects and referral opportunities.

  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holiday events.



HOW MUCH WILL YOU MAKE
Your starting salary will be $25-$30,000/year.  You’ll also receive commissions and bonuses based on your sales success and the team’s sales success.  The more you sell, the more you’ll make.
