Assistant Softball Coach

Job Summary

DUTIES:

• 10%: Actively participates in practice as needed by hitting infield or pitching batting practice


• 10%: Teach proper skills and skill development to student-athletes


• 10%: Provides instruction in the areas of physical health, team concepts and safety


• 10%: Under the direction of the Head Coach, responsible for designing instructions for individual student-athletes and for specific team needs


• 20%: Provides instruction during practice (drills, exercises, scrimmages, rules, scouting) and coaching during competition


• 5%: Recruits student-athletes who meet the NCAA eligibility standards and the university's admission requirements


• 5%: Coordinate travel planning and team arrangements


• 5%: Assist in management of budget, travel and equipment


• 5%: Use film software for practice and game video


• 5%: Plans and executes camps and clinics with head coach


• 5%: Complete daily administrative tasks as assigned by the head coach


• 5%: Ensures compliance with all university, Southland Conference and NCAA rules and regulations


• 5%: Accountable for ensuring that affirmative action, equal opportunity, and diversity are integrally tied to all actions and decisions in areas of responsibility

Minimum Experience Required:

• One year of coaching experience or collegiate playing experience. Pitching experience on a collegiate level or have a background in pitching.

Minimum Education Required:

• Bachelor's Degree

Other Minimum Requirements:

• Must be able to work nights and weekends for practices and competitions and travel with the team to away competitions
