Job Summary
Description: This position is designed to give the qualified candidate hands on experience with all facets of an intercollegiate football program. This is a two year position with the expectation of successful graduation from the University with a Master's Degree. This position is supervised by the Head Football Coach.
Responsibilities:
- Assist head football coach in practice session and game preparation.
- Ability to instruct and coach offensive skill positions (wide receivers and/or running backs).
- Recruitment of new quality students/athletes for the football program.
- Assist in strength and conditioning coordinator with implementation of both in-season and out-of-season.
- Follow all rules and guidelines set forth by the University, the athletics department policies, and NCAA and Midwest Conference Bylaws and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Maintain full time status in an eligible University graduate program
- Additional approval is required for entrance in graduate programs outside of Education
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Previous experience in coaching preferred
- Participation in a college level football preferred
Human Relations Skills:
- Ability to function effectively as a team player within the program and athletics department.
- Ability to conduct self in a productive, professional manner at all times, representing Carroll University at the highest level as a role model and mentor for our student athletes.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft word, publisher, excel, and related computer applications vital to organizational skills the ensure success in our program.
- Excellent communication skills as they relate to recruiting, working with parents, alumni, and current student athletes.
Additional Assignment: Strength and Conditioning
- Assist in the implementation of certified, approved standards and guidelines established by an approved professional strength and conditioning certifying body.
- Maintain compliance with current NCAA strength and conditioning regulations
- Assist coordinator with facility and equipment set up, inspection, maintenance, and repair.
- Provide input for facility purchasing and future strategic planning of the facility
- Assist in the maintenance of team strength and conditioning records.
- Works collaboratively with assigned sport coaches in the development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs.
