Job Summary
  • Reports to the Hockey Director.
  • Primarily responsible for all operations pertaining to hockey programming that builds our foundation of hockey players, including the  Development League, Hockey Academy, and scheduling coaches for clinics and programs. 
Essential Functions
  • Responsible for the overall operation of the NHL Team Youth Development League with an emphasis on growing participation numbers.
  • Create an experience that well-represents the NHL Team’ core values and vision for youth hockey in South Florida.
  • Schedule games, evaluate players, select teams, and communication with the league’s participants. 
  • Research content for Learn-to-Skate, Learn-to-Play, American Development Model, USA Hockey curriculum to be distributed amongst participants.
  • Create curriculum for participant progression from Hockey Academy and Learn-to-Play.
  • Create skill progression chart for distribution amongst participants.
  • Assist in lesson development for all leagues and clinics, including Learn-to-Play and Panthers Hockey Academy.
  • Responsible for clinics, dates, registration and coordination with the Front Office.
  • Communicate with all staff and families with special programming and cancellation dates.
  • Manage social media accounts with approved content from the Marketing manager.
  • Create Hockey Academy marketing and advertising content.
  • Develop staff to implement high tempo and high-quality practice plans and continue to grow participation numbers for camps, clinics, and grassroots programming. 
  • Develop evaluation process for Hockey Academy in coordination with Figure Skating Director.
  • Responsible for reporting retention and progression numbers after each session to show growth at the grassroots level progressing into travel hockey programming. 
  • Develop new and innovative programs to implement for future seasons.
  • Learn budgetary items to report to Hockey Director and know registration numbers and pricing structure. 
 Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Pointstreak, Excel, and Microsoft Word to develop and publish schedules and upcoming events, game schedules, and other programming. 
  • Must have experience teaching hockey fundamentals to children, ages 4-17.
  • Have extensive knowledge of hockey fundamentals and development tactics.
  • Must have experience playing hockey at a competitive level.
  • Capable of handling large groups of participants at once.
  • Strong ability to adapt to changes, work effectively under pressure and produce accurate results in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be available during the competition season to travel for weekend home and away games.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
