Dance Team Director

Job Summary

Summary:The Dance Team Director is responsible for the selection, training and coaching of the dance team for their optimum performance both on the field and at public appearances.

Qualifications:
 

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred in dance or performance arts
• Minimum of 5 years dance management/coaching experience
• Extensive training in different forms of dance
• Familiar with today’s trends in music and fashion
• Affiliation with a dance studio for try outs and practices is a preference
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including practices, nights, events, weekends and traditionaloffice hours as required
• Excellent administrative, organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage a budget, prepare reports and meet deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook and Internet Explorer
• Excellent written and verbal skills in the English language
• Excellent people skills with an ability to interact professionally with dance team, members,fans and employees at all levels within the organization
• Strong work ethic with the ability to meet tight deadlines and work effectively in a high-pressure environment
• Excel at motivating performers and leading by example

Essential Job Functions:

• Works with Public Relations Co-Ordinator to prepare inaugural season plan for dance team,and annual plan thereafter. Plan to include dance team program structure, timelines, budgets,and anything else related to running the Dance Team
• Organize, conduct, administrate and promotes all dance team auditions and interviews
• Responsible for the recruitment, selection and development of quality individuals with elitedance ability to form the Dance Team
• Acts as liaison between the dance team and business operations
• Sets rules and regulations for contractual purposes
• Responsible for the design and direction of all choreography, routines, music selection,costuming for the dance team. will advise of any designated Theme nights
• Ensures that all dance team performances are of professional caliber and that the performersadhere to their dance obligations, conduct, care of uniform, make-up, physical fitness etc.
• Mandatory attendance for all home games and dance team rehearsals/practices
• Supervises and directs on-field performance of the Dancers
• Provides music editing and production for in-arena performances and off-site appearances
• Works with staff to formulate strategies, revenue generating ideas, dance-basedticket sales promotions, dance clinics and workshops as well as marketing direction as amember of the Marketing Department
