Job Summary

Specific Functions/Activities Summary

  • Responsible for assisting in the day to day operations of the Food & Merchandise department to ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Responsible for providing fast, professional and courteous service to all bartenders.  
  • Must be able to help supervisors and carry product up and down the stairs from the warehouse to the bar locations in a smooth, efficient and pleasant manner.  
  • Must work rapidly and remain calm during peak periods.  
  • Must know all bar positions and where all products is housed and ready to transport any/all product at any time when asked to do so.
  •  Must also break down machinery including, but not limited to Pop corn machines, frozen drink machines, and coolers.  

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will prior barback experience.
  • Responsible for setting up stock and maintain bar area to standards. Ensure liquor, garnish, glasses, product, etc. are properly stored and presented.
  • Deliver and distribute ice accordingly.
  • Break down and clean bar and bar area.
  • Help maintain warehouse area according to standards by following NYC Health Code.
  • Conduct physical inventory, set up/break down designated work areas and maintain product levels.
  • Oversee specific sections of the theater, insuring staff and section is show ready and guest’s needs are met.
  • Respond to all escalated guest issues and determine appropriate actions to resolve problems and/or issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure positive guest experience and commitment to MSG “Circle of Service” standards for all guests entering Beacon Theatre.
  • Provide information to patrons and answer questions/inquiries regarding Theatre facility.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and have a food handler permit.

Education

  • Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
  • Educational requirements may differ from job to job based on the role.
