Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Test Engineer who will play a large role in the R&D and development of testing equipment used to evaluate the physical properties, impact performance and compliance of all Wilson hardgoods. The role is a hands-on position with a heavy emphasis on the ability to design, engineer, build and maintain unique one-off testing equipment for sports equipment. This position will interface closely with all Wilson Innovation + R&D groups across our spectrum of products. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -Engineer, develop and build new and unique testing jigs, apparatus, methods for measuring physical properties and dynamic performance for prototypes, production or competitive sports equipment. -Build or modify both hardware and software used for data acquisition for various types of sensors and for outputting data for report generation purposes. -Understand, maintain and aid in the calibration of conformance testing equipment for USGA/R&A and compliance testing equipment for NOCSAE certification. -Act as a consultant to various R&D engineers and technicians regarding new or improved methods to of testing that continually push the envelope to maintain a best in class lab. -Recommend and run development projects with external companies/consultants in the development/delivery and debugging of new equipment/software for testing. -Understand and communicate methods and work flow to various R&D organizations in the pursuit of developing world class products that all athletes will value. What We're Looking For This role requires a minimum 4 years experience in an engineering or R&D environment working in a lab measuring / monitory physical consumer products. A BS in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is strongly preferred. What makes a great test engineer? -Experience with developing / coding in data acquisition software such as but not limited to Labview or MatLab is a must -Experience with basic electrical engineering of sensors such as photo light gates, accelerometers, strain gauges etc. highly preferred -Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel and Word) -Experience with laboratory testing at a golf or sports protective company a huge plus -Qualified candidates must demonstrate the ability to communicate complex methods and findings to a non-technical audience, and the ability to compare, evaluate and generate recommendations for improvements or next steps -An eagerness to continuously learn and incorporate new software/applications into the work flow on demand is necessary -Success will entail an eagerness to continuously learn and understand the design & manufacturing of sports equipment and what makes them perform -You must be able to work in an experimental, fast paced environment while managing multiple projects under minimal supervision -A demonstrated passion for sport and playing experience is a plus!
