Assistant Equestrian Coach

Job Summary

Responsibilities:

• The Assistant Equestrian Coach is responsible for maintaining high academic standards to support the academic development and graduation of student-athletes while focused on student-athlete welfare
• assisting in successfully directing the women’s equestrian program to compete for UEC and NCAA championships
• assisting in the recruitment of student-athletes and maintaining a culture of personal accountability in student-athlete academic performance and conduct
• assisting in the planning and direction of all practices, travel, and competition activities
• assisting, as delegated by the Head Equestrian Coach, in preparing and managing the administrative functions of the women’s equestrian program
• and assisting in community engagement and donor relations by promoting the women’s equestrian program within the priorities of the Department of Athletics.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree required. Masters Degree preferred.


• Expertise in the technical, rider development, and teaching/training components of coaching women’s collegiate equestrian.


• Three years of collegiate equestrian experience as an athlete and/or coach or three years of experience as a professional horse trainer.


• Proven equine management experience and an in-depth understanding of the assigned discipline (i.e. Western or Hunt Seat).
