Major Gifts Officer

Job Summary

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Implementing, and executing strategies, policies, goals, and objectives related to fundraising for the University Athletics primarily focused on CAF operations and initiatives support
• Planning and coordinating with Executive Director fund-raising initiatives with special focus on major gifts, capital campaigns and scholarships
• Building and managing a portfolio of 150 or more major gift donors and prospects for Athletics
• Developing and implementing plans to identify, cultivate, solicit and provide appropriate stewardship for major gift donors
• Planning and coordinating when applicable the involvement of the President, Director of Athletics, other senior staff, coaches and volunteers in development activities
• Assisting in the development of campaign literature and materials
• Assisting in the planning and implementation of the Athletic Foundation special events, including game-day hospitality
• Providing exceptional customer service to all constituents, including but not limited to, faculty, staff, students, visitors and the community at large.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum three years proven success record in fund-raising or outside sales are required.
• Preferred candidate will have collegiate athletic fundraising experience. Successful candidate must have a passion for collegiate athletics and the student-athletes we serve
• Must possess an energetic and outgoing personality
• Must have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, highly detail oriented
• Must be highly motivated, reliable and team-member oriented.
