Athletic Medical Director

Job Summary

Responsibilities:

• This position will be responsible for the oversight of the medical operations of the CHS multidisciplinary clinic housed in intercollegiate athletics.
• This position will also be responsible for working with and overseeing athletic team physicians, athletic trainers, psychologists, dieticians, physical therapists, strength and conditioning specialists and other healthcare professionals to provide primary care, injury and illness prevention, sports performance safety oversight and emergency medical care to university students that participate in intercollegiate athletics.

Qualifications:

• Doctor’s degree from an accredited school of medicine or approved school of osteopathic medicine with a minimum of ten years’ experience as a Physician.
• Board certification in Family Practice, Sports Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatric/Adolescent Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
• Completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine or equivalent training.
• Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Arizona, or will be date of hire.
• Must have current DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certification.
• Currently hold prescriptive privileges in the State, or will by date of hire.
• 5 years’ experience as College/University Team Physician.
