Social Media Specialist

Job Summary

A highly entrepreneurial professional sports team competing in the fastest growing sport in the US, the New England Free Jacks, are seeking a digital native, fast-learning creative and analytics focused individual to work as our Social Media Specialist.  Amazing and rare opportunity to be part of the growth of a professional sports team during its inaugural season.  This individual will be responsible for utilizing social and digital media to tell the rich stories behind the players, the team and help create the brand of the mighty Free Jacks. We’re looking for someone who is super passionate about creating engaging video contentand who can also strategize about where and when our videos can bring the most value, and who can deliver results in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Responsibilities

●   Own and operate the social media handle for the team as well develop the personal handles of key players on the tram

●   Build a content distribution strategy and budget to maximize brand and content reach and engagement

●     Write, generate, edit, and publish new programming optimized for performance on social media

●   Continuously improve by capturing, analyzing, and incorporating appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices

●     Collaborate with the marketing team to integrate content with the team website, and existing marketing outreach initiatives

●     Track, analyze, and identify key video content trends in sports media 

Requirements

●   Proven experience in social media marketing (or as a digital media specialist) with a focus on video content production

●     Expert knowledge of (and passion for) all social video platforms: including publishing elements, optimization, channel management, analytics, revenue tracking, and retention and engagement strategies

●     Experience launching and managing video projects from start to finish, and a proficiency in video content management systems

●   A deep love for sports and/or rugby

●   Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills

●   Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability
