Job Summary
Position Summary General Responsibilities:
- Recruiting and maintaining student athletes sufficient to field a competitive intercollegiate basketball team.
- Providing clear and accurate information in areas related to the coaching of intercollegiate basketball – practice schedules, game schedules, contest results, web site information, media guide information, travel requests/records, budget requests/records and purchasing processes/records.
- Providing clear behavior, eligibility, and academic expectations for student-athletes.
- Maintaining current knowledge of the field, including District, Community College Athletic Association and sport association(s) compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Have a master’s degree* from an accredited institution, completed by August 22, 2020, in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Exercise Science, Education with an emphasis in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Physiology of Exercise, or Adaptive Physical Education;
- OR, have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, completed by August 22, 2020, in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Exercise Science, Education with an emphasis in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Physiology of Exercise, or Adaptive Physical Education,
- AND have a master’s degree in any Life Science, Dance, Physiology, Health Education, Recreation Administration, or Physical Therapy; OR, hold a California Community College Instructor’s Credential in Physical Education;
- OR, the equivalent.
- 2. Have two years of successful coaching experience in intercollegiate or interscholastic basketball.
- 3. Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment.
