Director of Development

Job Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Helps oversee the day-to-day internal operations of The Panther Club, focusing on donor services, stewardship, and strategic communication as it relates to the annual fund. Responsible for the coordination and execution of all donor hospitality and fundraising events, plus former student-athlete events and communications. Works with the Deputy Athletic Director to design, implement, structure, and evaluate Panther Club programs and best practices. Identifies, cultivates, and solicits prospective donors, corporate sponsors, and season ticket holders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business or related field or equivalent experience required; Master’s degree preferred

Experience and Training

• Minimum 2 year sales/development experience required
• Demonstrated understanding of college athletics and development preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

• Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively and attend Campus, HPU home and away athletic events
• A work style that is self-directed as well as collegial
• Creative problem-solving skills, especially an ability to determine the right approach and connections to leverage and successfully engage prospects
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products and development database software
• Demonstrates high levels of organization along with management of time and information
