Job Summary

Description:

The Head Coach is responsible for the development and maintenance of an effective and competitive NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving program. Teaching will include instruction of the skills and strategies necessary for the student-athlete to become competitive and successful in this sport.

This Head Coach is expected to teach and demonstrate the ability to promote the growth of student-athlete's physical, intellectual and social behaviors. The Head Coach is responsible for directing all aspects of their assigned sport program.

Responsibilities:

• Organize and conduct all practices and game preparations


• Manage all phases of the men's and women's swimming and diving programs including coaching, recruiting, and public relations, and conducting camps/clinics in this sport


• Support sport program, departmental, and institutional fundraising efforts

• Serve as teacher, counselor, and role model so that student athletes will improve upon their physical, intellectual, and social behaviors


• Maximize the physical talent of the team through quality teaching/coaching of appropriate skills and strategies needed to be successful in that sport, and the promotion of teamwork


• Maintain, manage and update equipment inventories


• Assist with the management and maintenance of all game and practice facilities used by the team

• Coordinate potential off-site practice sessions within the local community


• Perform other duties as assigned

Strength and Conditioning Responsibilities

• Implementation of standards and safety guidelines for Professional Strength and Conditioning Practice(s).


• Maintain compliance with current NCAA strength and conditioning regulations.


• Assist with facility and equipment set up, inspection, and maintenance.


• Implementation of emergency planning and response plan when needed in the weight room.


• Works collaboratively with Human Performance coaches.


• Serves as weight room monitor when supervising the weight room
