Contracts Specialist

Job Summary

Duties & Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for the commitee's management of contract matters, including without limitation assisting with drafting and negotiating vendor and supplier agreements, consulting and agency engagements, information technology agreements, and waivers.
• In collaboration with the Senior Counsel, manage the commitee's properties.
• Manage contract policy development and management, including but not limited to providing staff policy trainings on a regularly-occurring basis and consistently working to improve and streamline the contracting process for business stakeholders.  

Lead the management of the commitee contract management system, which includes but is not limited to the following:

• Leading the procurement and build-out of a new contract management system.
• Conducting staff trainings on the contract system (and corresponding policies) once new system is acquired and then on an ongoing basis.
• Serving as primary administrator for the contract system, responding to user questions and inquiries as needed.  
• Assist with work on Human Resource related matters, including benefit plans, investigations, reorganizations, job eliminations, promotions, terminations, work eligibility, etc., including by drafting and negotiating agreements as needed, coordinating with outside counsel and supporting HR policy preparation.
• Communicate and collaborate with, and support the Legal team on all legal matters and coordinate across legal personnel to ensure that efficient and effective cross-divisional legal decisions are implemented.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested by the Senior Counsel.
