Head Groundskeeper

 

 1)     Oversee the entire field turf maintenance operation, including: maintaining the field of play, setting up the field for all events that take place at Classic Park and ensuring all equipment is in operating condition.

 

2)     Primary responsibility is to ensure playing surface is maintained to the highest professional standards of Minor League Baseball at ALL times, for ALL events.

 

3)     Perform the necessary personal oversight and involvement to ensure the playing surface is always presentable and maintained properly.

 

4)     Oversee the scheduling of field turf staff to ensure that all expectations of providing the best possible playing surface are met while also managing all individuals are allotted enough time off throughout the season and that all events are properly staffed. Manager of Field Turf Operations need not be present at all events held at stadium.

 

5)     Maintain a professional image for the entire turf management staff, including personal attire and conduct.

 

6)     Regular maintenance of the playing surface to ensure a professional turf is always presentable and to ensure that our playing surface becomes one of the best in the Midwest League.

 

7)     Oversee a budget for all turf management expenses with the goal of managing all expenses related to this department appropriately. This will involve tracking expenses and regular reports to the GM.

 

8)     Maintain and monitor all in-stadium and perimeter landscaping in conjunction with the third-party landscaper.

 

9)     Work with the Manager of Stadium Operations to maintain the facility throughout the off-season, including routine security checks and routine monitoring of all indoor facilities to ensure proper temperature is set depending on the weather.

 

10)  Perform all necessary snow shoveling of walkways and high traffic areas of the facility during the winter, including maintaining accessible walkways from the parking lot to the front office as well as a walkway from the office into the seating bowl of the stadium to allow client tours if necessary.

 

11)  Work with the Manager of Stadium Operations during the off-season to check suites and clubhouses for leaks and reduce overall stadium utility usage.

 

12)  Work with the Manager of Stadium Operations to coordinate the winterization of the stadium following the conclusion of the baseball season.

 

13)  Work with the Manager of Stadium Operations to complete off-season facility projects throughout the Fall and Winter months.

 

14)  Hire and oversee a staff of part-time, seasonal assistants who will aid in all turf management operations.

 

15)  Work with the GM & Director of Director of Ticket Operations and Special Events in scheduling all events at Classic Park with the goal of maximizing use while maintaining the field to professional standards.
