Job Summary
Duties and Responsibilities:
- (E) Supervise the general operations of the program's laboratory and classroom spaces, including cleanliness and organization, inventorying and ordering of equipment and supplies
- (E) As required by the SMS chairperson, attend SMS department meetings and university open houses, accepted students, and meet your major events
- (E) Oversee daily and annual administrative responsibilities as directed by the PD, including coordinating open lab times, file management, data storage/management, printing program documents, student clothing order, maintain BOC approved provider account, etc.
- (E) Collaborates with the program director (PD), coordinator of clinical education (CEC), faculty, and advisory board members to convey, uphold, and assess the program's policies, procedures, mission, goals, objectives, and core values
- (E) Collaborates with the PD to organize and manage the program's admissions process and serve as a point of contact for prospective students
- (E) Collaborates with the PD, CEC, faculty, and advisory board members to develop, assess, and advance the program's curriculum and curricular content
- (E) Collaborates with athletic training and SMS faculty to support new and ongoing research projects, including assisting with development, data collection, and dissemination of results
- (E) Collaborates with the PD, CEC, program faculty, and advisory board members to develop, implement, and analyze the program's comprehensive assessment plan
- (E) Collaborates with the PD to collect, analyze, and publish the program's annual outcome data (including BOC pass rate, graduation, retention, and employment data)
- (E) Collaborates with the PD to maintain and create content for the program's website and social media accounts
- (E) Collaborates with the PD to develop, assess, and implement the program's strategic recruitment and marketing plan
- (E) Assist all faculty members as a clinical laboratory assistant for athletic training courses, which may include assisting with the set-up and breakdown of any equipment related to activities in the athletic training labs
- (E) Collaborates with the SMS department chair and PD to recruit, select, evaluate, and supervise all work-study students assigned to the athletic training program
- (E) Assists with planning and implementing safety policies and procedures for the athletic training laboratory and classroom spaces, including emergency action plans, OSHA guidelines, standard precautions, electromedical safety inspections, and hazardous materials
- (E) Collaborates with college administration, SMS department, and athletic training program stakeholders to maintain and refine the program's policy and procedure handbook to meet all university and CAATE accreditation requirements
- (E) Collaborates with the PD, CEC, program faculty, and advisory board members to prepare information and artifacts required for the annual CAATE accreditation reports, SMS department annual report, and other accreditation related actions
- Demonstrates professionalism during all interactions with current students, prospective students, and all members of the community
- Demonstrates cultural competence in regards to students, faculty, and staff of varying racial, ethnic, religious, gender, cultural, disability, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic background
- Demonstrates sensitivity and inclusion of students with diverse learning styles
- Serve as a role model and mentor for athletic training students, as appropriate
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Certified Athletic Trainer
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state Massachusetts
- Clinical experience as an athletic trainer
- Professional experience in athletic training education or related academic environment
