Job Summary

The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for providing training and guidance to foster skill development and teamwork among student-athletes, facilitating the integration of athletics into each student's educational experience. This position is also responsible for overseeing all activities, programs and maintenance.

Professional Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree; prior collegiate athletic experience; prior collegiate coaching experience. Previous coaching experience including at least 5 years of overseeing lifeguard staff;

• Thorough knowledge and conscientious adherence to the rules and regulations of the NCAA and Title IX;

• Current certifications in Water Safety Instruction, Advanced Lifesaving, and Adult CPR and Community First Aid. Certified Pool Operator preferred or willingness to obtain;

• Knowledge of optimal swimming pool water chemistry, temperature, and cleanliness standards;

• Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations/policies/guidelines for the operation of public swimming pools and public baths;

• The ability and willingness to provide excellent service and to work in a collegial manner with students, faculty and staff, and other constituencies is essential;

• Excellent organizational and supervisory skills;

• Because this position requires driving for university business, the successful candidate must possess a valid U.S. driver's license, have a driving record that is free from excessive motor vehicle violations within the last three years, and have had no convictions in the last 24 months for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
