Job Summary
The Athletic Performance Dietitian is responsible for supporting the vision and mission of the Performance Nutrition Program by providing counseling and education to student athletes related to proper nutrition for performance, recovery, energy metabolism, body composition, strength and development, injury prevention and rehabilitation and clinical nutrition care.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- One year of full-time experience or two years part time, paid, or volunteer experience as a student nutritionist
Required Licenses and Certifications:
- Registered Dietitian
- Ability to obtain Texas State License
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of rules and regulations of athletic governing bodies (ex. National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) U. S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)) regarding banned substances Knowledge of eating disorders/disordered eating signs and symptoms
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
- Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to clearly communicate
