Assistant Athletic Director

Job Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Athletics, the Assistant Director is responsible for managing compliance for the Department of Athletics and providing academic and student-athlete welfare programming. Specific job duties include, but are not limited to;

• Assist with development of a comprehensive compliance program with rules education for student-athletes, coaches, and administrators.

• Monitor initial and continuing eligibility for the recruiting process, and progress towards degree completion.

• Supervise the Compliance and Student Welfare Assistant by ensuring that the Assistant understands his or her duties and delegated tasks, monitoring productivity, and providing constructive feedback 

• Plan educational workshops for student-athletes working with internal and external groups.

• Act as liaison to the Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR), Athletic Academic Advisor, and Athletic Department coaches and staff.

• Work in conjunction with the Athletic Academic Advisor in implementing support programs for all student athletes. Maintain a student athlete advising caseload.

• Supervise home athletic events and contests as assigned.

• Serve as a member of the Behavioral Intervention Team . Assist in administering the institutional drug and NCAA tests.
