 Job Summary

The Assistant Club Manager will help foster the culture through self-leadership, passion, integrity, creativity and hospitality while supervising the day to day safety, security, and member service operations of East Bank Club. The Assistant Club Manager will support the organization’s culture, processes, practices and systems to ensure that all employees are given the opportunity to contribute to the business goals of the company and its members. The Assistant Club Manager is a direct liaison between our members, employees, and the executive team, must exhibit enthusiasm, confidence, and the ability to remain calm in all situations.

Chief Responsibilities

·         Provides direct oversight and support of all club operations and departments, the member experience, and leading by example by providing quality customer service and member resolution in a timely manner with precise and detailed follow-through, while ensuring staff consistently follows our expected high level of hospitality & integrity, helping our members live well.

·         Delivers a strong and consistent work ethic, treating our members, guests and employees with fairness, integrity, respect, and ongoing support.

·         Ensures the interior and exterior of the Club provide a clean, safe, sanitary, and enjoyable environment at all times, and addressing or reporting needs for improvement with a sense of urgency.

·         Strong communication with members, guests, department managers and the executive team on all matters, which may include investigations, reporting

·         First responder for all Club emergencies and must be able to handle conflict, confrontation, and extreme situations in a calm and professional manner.

·         Must be knowledgeable of all and enforce various Club and departmental policies while being empowered to handle situations on a case-by-case exception basis.

·         Act as a concierge for all areas of the Club and hold sole responsibility of all Club operations in the absence of the executive team, which may include using authority to suspend an employee for a serious violation, pending investigation.

·         Specific Department Assignment: Responsible for all hiring, onboarding, progressive discipline, employee consultation, annual performance reviews, schedules, payroll, and departmental training, ensuring all positions achieve Club standards.

·         Authority to manage all Club departments which may include coaching, progressive discipline, consultation, and suspension.

·         Manages and supports all administrative functions of the management office/operations department which may include departmental schedules, payroll, invoices, supplies, tracking, reporting, auditing and donations.

·         Other tasks as assigned by Club Operations Manager and/or Executive Director

 Physical Requirements

·         Standing and walking for sustained periods of time.

·         Frequent lifting up to 25 pounds.

·         Ability to be exposed to various chemicals and fragrances used in spas, salon, locker rooms, housekeeping, laundry and pools.

·         Frequent ability to stoop, kneel and crouch.

·         Occasional need to use a ladder for stock/inventory needs.

·         Possible travel to meetings and conferences in and out of town, which may include overnight accommodations.

 

Qualifications

·         Recreation Management or Hospitality degree required.

·         Experience with working in a luxury, upscale environment with strong hospitality focus preferred.

·         Ability to be part of strong & productive team environment.

·         Strategic thinker; ability to analyze and solve issues quickly.

·         Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities, works well under pressure, and is able to work in a fast-paced environment.

·         Exceptional organizational, written and oral communication skills. Must have the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

 

·         Ability to learn various operating software and must be fluent in Microsoft Office Suite.
