Job Summary
Position Title: Brand Manager
Reporting to: General Manager - Sports
Location: Evansville, IN
Status: Exempt
Job Purpose: As Brand Manager, this role will be responsible for contributing to and managing the Team Sports and Rec Sports divisions’ marketing strategies and visions. The individual in this position will use market research and analysis to develop initiatives and go-to-market plans. You will collaborate with and brief the creative and digital teams in the creation, organization, and execution of engaging consumer communications and product content. This individual will establish and maintain a rolling 12-month marketing calendar for key brands and categories within the Team Sports and Rec Sports groups.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Analyze business and consumer trends, identify key issues facing the business, and build and execute innovative marketing strategies and go to market plans for brands and categories
- Demonstrate strong business acumen as well as brand and product financials, showing an ability to make sense of the numbers as well as draw conclusions to make decisions and recommendations
- Identify new, consumer insight driven, innovative ideas to drive brand growth
- Develop a consistent, best-in-class omni-channel brand experience
- Collaborate closely with graphic designers, videographers, and photographers in developing images, videos, and graphics, for e-commerce and social media websites
- Collaborate closely with digital marketing team to create and optimize all consumer content for publication to e-commerce retail websites
- Immerse yourself in the brands; consume and follow related content and apply those learnings to new opportunities and initiatives
- Assist in the organization and integration of a product content management software
- Define and develop affiliate and ambassador programs for key categories and brands
- Take a lead role in the strategy development, content creation, and analysis of social media campaigns
- Work with product management to gain extensive product knowledge for use in product marketing
- Work with sales and product management teams to execute e-commerce and retail strategies, consumer and customer assets, and content creation
- Participate in training opportunities related to e-commerce growth and evolution
- Assist in the calendarization, briefing, and execution of email content
Qualifications & Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in consumer products marketing
- Successful background in product launches, brand creation/protection, and social media marketing execution
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising. Advanced degree preferred
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
