The Database Marketing Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and managing database marketing, email marketing and research activities which generate new season, partial season and individual game ticket sales and retain existing customers for the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Responsibilities:
Database Marketing
Develop the overall Database Marketing strategy and establish a culture of a commitment to data collection and usage throughout the Blue Jackets business operations
Ensure data standardization and accuracy.
Maintain, organize and cleanse the database, in coordination with the ticket operations and IT departments.
Analyze data to identify segments of customers based on demographic/psychographic variables, past purchases, etc. for the development of sales/marketing campaigns.
Develop and implement data driven sales/marketing campaigns using e-mail, direct mail, internet and telemarketing to generate full season, partial season and individual game ticket revenue.
Track and analyze all campaigns and report on final results. Implement ROI reporting for each campaign.
Identify and continuously provide qualified leads to the ticket sales department.
Digital Marketing
Develop and implement overall e-mail marketing strategy including content, promotion and management of lists for subscription and non-subscription (pre-sales, event announcements, ticket offers) e-mails to generate ticket revenue and drive traffic to BlueJackets.com and NationwideArena.com.
Implement activities to increase subscription e-mail lists and improve click thru rates.
Research
Conduct research, including e-mail surveys to season ticket holders and other event attendees, to improve customer satisfaction and guidance for future team initiatives.
Analyze existing customer database and develop customer profiles to guide develop future marketing activities.
Compile and evaluate ticket sales data to measure effectiveness of past and guide future marketing and advertising activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor?s Degree in business administration, marketing, management information systems or related field.
Minimum of two years database marketing experience in a professional sports or consumer marketing environment with demonstrated results in creating revenue via database marketing campaigns is preferred.
Experience working within a data warehouse environment and utilizing business intelligence tools is preferred.
Knowledge and working experience with data manipulation tools and SQL.
Prior use of Archtics ticketing system and Ticketmaster Mailmanager preferred but not required.
Ideal candidate will be passionate and enthusiastic about data collection & usage, strong analytical/organizational/project management skills. Self motivated, results oriented and driven to reach sales goals. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Effective in time management, ability to multi-task and prioritize under a deadline-oriented fast-paced environment. Commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction. Ability to work well with and coordinate projects with other departments (ticketing, IT) on a daily basis. Proven leadership skills. Attention to Computer skills including basic working knowledge of HTML, Microsoft Office, and Photoshop.
Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and some game nights.
