Description:
This position is responsible for prospecting, setting meetings, preparing presentations and ultimately securing new and renewal business as it relates to sponsorship inventory. This includes signage, radio promotional programs, special events, community programs and business to business partnerships throughout a 12-month sales cycle.
Primary Responsibility:
Develop presentations and proposals used to promote the Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball Club to clients.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with potential and confirmed Pirates Partners.
Research and study the business and business market of clients and potential clients.
Continually seek and cultivate new business opportunities.
Acquire account renewals of current Pittsburgh Pirates Corporate Partners.
Maintain a weekly call and appointment quota.
Monitor competitive advertising mediums to generate new sales leads.
Entertain partners at Pittsburgh Pirates games and other social engagements to reinforce the value of Pirates Corporate Partnerships.
Assist with contract preparation and maintain an organized, updated customer database.
Coordinate the action plan with Pittsburgh Pirates Corporate Partnerships and staff members.
All other duties as assigned by Senior Director, Corporate Partnerships.
Collect all account receivables from clients.
Maintain and update weekly sales reports.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Sports Management, Sales or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year sales experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Corporate sales experience with a professional, college or minor league team
- Media sales experience (i.e. radio, TV/cable, outdoor)
- Customer service experience
- Experience with the creation of PowerPoint presentations
