Job Summary
This role carries the responsibility of managing risk associated with these programs, with a primary focus on executing the Outdoor Orientation Trips (COOT) for incoming first-year students. Additionally, the director mentors student clubs related to outdoor activities, ensures compliance with safety policies, and collaborates with student leaders to create inclusive outdoor education experiences in Maine.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and experience working in higher education or with college-aged students in a residential setting
- Three years of experience in outdoor recreation, education, or comparable field required.
- Master's Degree in Outdoor Education or Recreation, Experiential Education, Environmental Education
- WFR & CPR certification required.
- Registered Maine Guide Recreational License strongly preferred; start licensure within 6 months of start date if not licensed.
