Job Summary

The Head of Sports Relations will play a crucial role in driving our mission forward. This individual will lead our efforts to build and maintain strong relationships with sports leagues, teams, athletes, and other sports businesses. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the sports industry and a passion for athlete empowerment.

Job Title: Head of Sports Relations

Location: New York City

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • - Develop and implement strategic plans to build and enhance relationships with sports leagues, teams, athletes, and other key stakeholders.
  • - Serve as the primary point of contact for sports partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • - Identify and pursue new partnership opportunities to expand our network and services.
  • - Oversee the organization of Sports Summits & Events, working closely with other departments to ensure successful execution.
  • - Collaborate with the Sports Store team to create and promote custom merchandise for schools, athletes, and leagues.
  • - Work with the NIL team to maximize athletes' Name, Image, and Likeness opportunities.
  • - Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings.
  • - Provide leadership and mentorship to the Sports Relations team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • - Monitor industry trends and stay informed about changes in the sports landscape to inform strategic decisions.
  • - Develop and manage budgets for Sports Relations activities, ensuring efficient use of resources.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • - Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • - 7+ years of experience in sports management, partnership development, or a related field.
  • - Proven track record of building and maintaining successful relationships with sports organizations.
  • - Strong understanding of the sports industry, including trends, challenges, and opportunities.
  • - Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • - Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute long-term plans.
  • - Leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • - Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • - Passion for empowering athletes and supporting their success.
