Job Summary

Overview:
Intersport, a leader in sports, entertainment, and lifestyle marketing and media for more than 32 years, is seeking to add a smart and driven marketer to its Experiences team. The Experiences team is comprised of two related practice areas: Sponsorship Consulting and Experiential Marketing. The Experiences team is integral to providing existing clients with a variety of solutions to help them reach their business and brand objectives.

The Account Executive (AE) supports the Account Supervisor (AS) in managing an integral piece of business. The AE is responsible for all aspects of the program management and execution for the client they are assigned and ensures that quality work is provided in a high-quality, timely, cost effective manner. An AE is expected to run all aspects of a small piece of business. Based on client need, the AE and AS will be located in Raleigh Durham, NC, and will report into Intersport’s headquarters (Chicago, IL - 303 E Wacker Dr., suite 2200).

 

Responsibilities:

General
• Embodies and reflects Intersport’s performance-based culture and commits him/herself and team
to the highest standards for all agency work
• Works effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver executional excellence

Client Management & Communication
• Demonstrates an understanding and a passion for his/her clients’ industry, business, consumer
and brands
• Establishing himself/herself as a trusted strategic business partner to the client
• Demonstrates leadership and presence in meetings and client interaction

Program & Project Management
• Creates and maintains administrative documents in a clear, concise and detailed manner for
client and agency backup including points of view, recaps, reporting, agendas, and timelines
• Manages the creative and production briefing process
• Accountable for managing legal process such as Contract Administration and Letters of
Authorization
• Assists with research and competitive analysis
• Actively contributes in brainstorming and idea generation sessions with cross-functional teams
• Day-to-day inventory manager of premiums and event materials
• Manages vendor relationships, including contracts, payments, and oversight of the deliverable
and quality of work

Event Execution
• Manages and executes live events in the form of a mobile tour including routing, client
communication and event production
• Accountable for event-related strategy development
• Leads on-site program execution including training, troubleshooting and reporting
• Commits to extensive travel and evening/weekend work is required

Reporting and Analysis
• Contributes in program review debriefings - analyzes and evaluates individual program
• Creates timely post-event/program reports and provides timely updates
• Works with internal account team to adapt programming with brand, consumer, and in-market
learnings
• Stays abreast of market and related industry trends, sponsorship landscape, and competitive
activities and proactively communicates insights and experiences with colleagues and clients

Budget & Financial Management
• Supports development of program budgets and management of those budgets to achieve client
needs and remain on targeted budget
• Provides clear, timely and accurate financial reporting (e.g. invoicing, reconciliation, etc.)

Team Management
• Works collaboratively with all members of integrated team
• Helps train/provide feedback to junior team members

 

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in a plus
• Two (2) to four (4) years’ experience in a marketing role at an agency, brand, media company,
sports or entertainment property, or related organization
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the sports and entertainment marketing landscape,
specifically experiential/event marketing
• Ability to manage multiple programs/projects concurrently, inclusive of a detail oriented and
organized approach
• Application of superior prioritization and time-management skills
• Ability to produce high quality work at a fast pace
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proactive, team player with a strong work ethic
• Previous experience with daily contact with clients and support teams
• Exemplary written and oral communication skills
• Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Word; proficiency in Excel
• Ability to travel for business on trips typically lasting between two to five days
