Job Summary

Overview:
Intersport, a leader in sports, entertainment, and lifestyle marketing and media for more than 32 years, is seeking to add a smart and driven marketer to its Experiences team. The Experiences team is comprised of two related practice areas: Sponsorship Consulting and Experiential Marketing. The Experiences team is integral to providing existing clients with a variety of solutions to help them reach their business and brand objectives.

The Senior Account Executive (SAE) leads the day-to-day management of an integral piece of business. The SAE also manages an Account Executive (AE) supports the, and is responsible for quality assurance of all aspects of the program management and execution for the client they are assigned and ensures that work is provided in a high-quality, timely, cost effective manner. The SAE is expected to provide overall management of all aspects of the client’s business and delegate to and the AE as appropriate. Based on client need, the SAE and AE will be located in Raleigh Durham, NC, and will report into Intersport’s headquarters (Chicago, IL - 303 E Wacker Dr., suite 2200).

 

Responsibilities:

General
• Embodies and reflects Intersport’s performance-based culture and commits him/herself and team
to the highest standards for all agency work
• Works effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver executional excellence

Client Management & Communication
• Demonstrates an understanding and a passion for his/her clients’ industry, business, consumer
and brands
• Establishing himself/herself as a trusted strategic business partner to the client
• Demonstrates leadership and presence in meetings and client interaction

Program & Project Management
• Leads client programming with specific expertise in experiential marketing strategy, planning,
execution, and measurement
• Creates and maintains administrative documents in a clear, concise and detailed manner for
client and agency backup including points of view, recaps, reporting, agendas, and timelines
• Oversees the creative and production briefing process
• Accountable for managing legal process such as Contract Administration and Letters of
Authorization
• Ensures AE produces quality research and competitive analysis
• Spearheads brainstorming and idea generation sessions with cross-functional teams
• Leads the sourcing and development of premiums and event materials
• Oversees vendor relationships, including contracts, payments, and oversight of the deliverable
and quality of work

Event Execution
• Oversees and executes live events in the form of a mobile tour including routing, client
communication and event production
• Serves as the lead for event-related strategy development
• Leads on-site program execution including training, troubleshooting and reporting
• Commits to extensive travel and evening/weekend work is required

Reporting and Analysis
• Acts as authority on program review debriefings - analyzes and evaluates individual program
• Ensures production of timely post-event/program reports and provides timely updates
• Works with internal account team to adapt programming with brand, consumer, and in-market
learnings
• Serves as a subject matter expert on market and related industry trends, sponsorship landscape,
and competitive activities and proactively communicates insights and experiences with
colleagues and clients

Budget & Financial Management
• Ensures comprehensive budget management, including development of program budgets and
management of those budgets to achieve client needs and remain on targeted budget, along with
clear, timely and accurate financial reporting (internally and to the client)

Team Management
• Works collaboratively with all members of integrated team
• Manages, trains, and mentors the AE with responsibility for goal setting, feedback, and
constructive guidance

Client Management
• Serves as the agency lead on day-to-day communication with the client team and serves as the
go-to resource


Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in a plus
• Four (4) to six (6) years’ experience in a marketing role at an agency, brand, media company,
sports or entertainment property, or related organization
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the sports and entertainment marketing landscape,
specifically experiential/event marketing
• Ability to manage multiple programs/projects concurrently, inclusive of a detail oriented and
organized approach
• Proven effectiveness in managing junior team members
• Application of superior prioritization and time-management skills
• Ability to produce high quality work at a fast pace
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proactive, team player with a strong work ethic
• Previous experience with daily contact with clients and support teams
• Exemplary written and oral communication skills
• Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Word; proficiency in Excel
• Ability to travel for business on trips typically lasting between two to five days
