Job Summary
Overview
The Operations Manager provides leadership to the Operations Coordinator and for the day to day operations of the overall facility to specifically include event setups, teardowns, Event cleaning shifts and equipment rentals.
Responsibilities
- Oversee event day operations
- Oversee equipment rental program
- Point person for making sure all building equipment are in safe work condition and functioning properly.
- Fill in and perform all the duties of the Senior Operations Manager or the operations coordinator when the Senior Operations Manager or operations coordinator is unavailable
- Oversee the Operations coordinator and make sure all changeovers and post event clean shifts are running efficiently.
- Hire, train, motivate and discipline part time changeover and post clean staff as needed
- Make sure all part time staff are up to date with all trainings such as fork lift, first aid, etc.
- Coordinate event logistics as assigned
- Supervise operations staff for non-event tasks as assigned
- Adhere to all Spectra Venue Management Policies and Procedures
- Ensure staff complies with OSHA requirements
- Assist Event Managers with event coordination as requested
- Assist in the setup / teardown of house audio / visual equipment
- Other duties assigned by Senior Operations Manager
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or better from an accredited college/university with major coursework in facility management, hospitality management, business management, or related field preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in facility operations preferably with a sports facility, convention center or other multipurpose public assembly facility
- Experience with event changeovers and the general functions of the operations department
- Knowledge of supervisory principles, with emphasis in working with and training staff
- Possess a working knowledge of audio / video and information technology systems preferred
- Ability to work event nights, weekends and holidays as required
- Ability to climb stairs and lift 40 lbs, unaided.
