Job Summary

rEvolution Marketing, an independently owned sports marketing agency, has an exciting leadership opportunity for an Accounting Supervisor. Working directly under the controller and within the Finance & Accounting team, this individual will supervise a staff accountant and an AP clerk, and manage day to day accounting operations for the company.

This individual must be an energetic self-starter, with the ability to interface with many members of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Train and supervise accounting staff and assist with internal staff onboarding
  • Have a holistic understanding of the entire organization and accounting function
  • Interface with Finance team on a daily basis to ensure all reporting and accounting entries are done accurately
  • Develop strong relationships within the organization
  • Develop, improve and enhance processes to ensure that teams can be better utilized on client related projects
  • Be a key member of the ERP implementation/transformation team and liaise with the business to gain a deep understanding of the user requirements and needs
  • Have strong GAAP background and strong understanding of internal controls and segregation of duties in order to ensure the appropriate team structure and processes
  • Ability to understand the ERP system and generate information needed by business leaders, the Controller and CFO
  • Document all accounting processes and create accounting policies and procedures for the team
  • Assist in treasury and financing
  • Speak to P&L and explain variances, and generate and explain balance sheet and statement of cash flow
  • Assist with Local, State, Federal, and Foreign tax filings
  • Sign off on bank reconciliations, AP check runs, payroll, intercompany and foreign transactions
  • Corporate credit card administration
  • Manage expense reports
  • Ensure that team is performing duties with accuracy and in a timely fashion
  • Daily and monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with annual and quarterly audits

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor in Accounting or related degree
  • CPA or on track to become a CPA
  • 6-8 years of experience, preferably agency experience
  • Public accounting experience is a plus
  • Innovative and able to assess and improve processes
  • A good understanding of GAAP and keeps updated with new regulation
  • Proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP systems
  • Proficiency in MS Office products especially Excel
  • Organized, innovative, professional, mature and can safeguard confidential information
  • Excellent communication skills
