Position Overview and Responsibilities

Interns will work closely with FleishmanHillard account staff to execute public relations programs on behalf of local, national and international clients. Responsibilities will include: conducting research, developing media lists, pitching story ideas to media, developing and writing media materials, fielding requests as appropriate, participating in group brainstorms and developing intern-led projects for the office.

Skill Building:

  • Hands-on instruction in an agency setting that will develop the following skill sets:
    • Working knowledge of media relations with traditional, online and social outlets
    • Specialized writing skills such as news releases, media advisories, pitch letters
    • Event coordination
    • Project coordination and execution
    • Account management and program development

Qualifications

Candidates must be proficient in English and fluent in Spanish and/or Portuguese. Qualified candidates will have completed their senior year of college with a focus in journalism, public relations, communications, English or other writing-concentrated major. Ideal candidates will be available full-time Monday through Friday.
