Job Summary

What part will you play?
The primary function of the Director, Creative Strategy is to act as the right hand to the Vice President and counterpart to the Senior Director, Presentation + Design. In this role, the Director supervises a small team of brand experts to manage a myriad of creative projects. These projects include tools used by advertising sales executives and teams to promote Turner brands to potential clients. The Director will assist Presentation + Design leadership to manage logistics, deadlines, budgets and workflow around impactful sales decks and other creative deliverables. The Director assists in the general management of the high volume of requests that come into the group. She/he consults with the group's design Directors to oversee team bandwidth, align resources, and assign projects. She/he provides strategic direction to the creative team and evaluates projects to ensure they are consistent with Turner brand guidelines and deliver on clients' requests and objectives prior to routing. The Director oversees project management procedures to ensure efficient process for requesting projects by internal clients, and the collection of clear direction and creative briefs for designers. The Director works as an ambassador for Presentation + Design, acting as the main point for executives and their teams when making requests and providing project feedback. The Director makes sure projects stay on schedule, on strategy and on budget. The Director develops timelines for initial drafts, final reviews, and project completion. The Director and his/her team is responsible for Presentation + Design budget, internal bill backs, vendor invoices, and Concur and Aruba approvals and reporting. As a supervisor, the Director oversees a small team of Coordinator(s) and Project Managers who contribute to ensuring that the creative staff can focus on developing high-impact branding and sales materials while they handle logistics and supervise production. The Director partners with her/his creative counterpart to strategically manage the resources of the group to prioritize requests, maximize efficiency, and generate best-in-class results. The Director keeps up with creative and media industry trends to keep the department's capabilities and creative work on the cutting edge. In addition, the Director partners with stakeholders in Corporate Communications, Event Planning, Turner Studios, and Marketplace Image to help bring key cross-portfolio and tentpole initiatives involving multiple team members to the finish line.

What do we require from you?

  • Ten (10) plus years' experience as a senior creative strategist in an agency or corporate creative department Experience in advertising, media marketing, or creative supervision
  • BA, BS or equivalent degree in Communications, Advertising or related field

  • Demonstrates an ability to act as an ambassador for Presentation + Design throughout the organization, developing strong working relationships.
  • Organizational and Analytical Skills: Able to be an efficiency expert, analyzing requests and creating a clear game plan for meeting deadlines and budgets.

Project Management Skills:

  • Ability to manage internal and external resources to ensure projects stay on track from concept through completion.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with team members, vendors, clients and partners at all levels throughout the organization. –
  • Supervisory and Leadership Skills: Possesses the ability to inspire team members to achieve their own professional goals while supporting the goals of the organization.
