Job Summary
Description
The Video Director will work closely with the Director of Post-Production to build GBI’s video team, identify outstanding talent and develop our internal video content capabilities. This person will have strong creative vision, intense planning and organizational skills and a thorough understanding of the digital video environment (software, platforms, formats, distribution etc.)
• Guide comprehensive video projects
• Ability to lead the development of the video team ensuring appropriate staffing, skill sets and process improvements
• Management of video talent and phases of production and post-production in studio
• Ability to work closely with Art Directors, account teams and talent to provide clear direction and oversee final delivery of all video assets
• Responsible to own video product vision and manage the respective product lines to meet corporate, strategic, and financial goals.
• Develop, deliver and manage strategic video initiatives and communicate department roadmaps
• Develop video solutions in partnership with the Post-Production Director to enhance GBI Video service offerings
• Responsible to work closely with all Studio teams including client services, photography, retouching, etc. regarding project deliverables and meet quality checkpoints
• Ability to lead and direct the work of others
• Contact with video editing personnel daily to ensure deliverables remain on schedule.
• Proactively conduct post-mortem assessments, analyze performance over time, recognize trends and offer ideas about optimizations and improvements
Qualifications
• Adobe Certified Expert in After Effects, and/or Premiere Pro
• Phase One Certified Professional
• 5+ years’ experience in a manager role in a creative, post-production department or organization leading video production projects in a studio environment.
• Adapts to change easily, comfortable trying new tools and seeks to apply tools to solve problems
• Proficient in Davinci Resolve
• Broad marketing and brand experience across e-commerce, retail, editorial, and advertising sectors of the fashion or sportswear industry
• Expertise in computer graphics and 3D digital rendering
• Working relationships with both post production agencies and individual video editors in Los Angeles, and other major photo industry centers
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Collaborates well with others to achieve shared goals
• Motivates team members and shows a willingness to help out peers when needed.
