TITLE: Business Analytics Intern

DEPARTMENT: Business Analytics (Brand & Strategy)

REPORTS TO: Director of Business Analytics

PRIMARY LOCATION: Star HQ



SUMMARY

The Business Analytics Intern position will provide timely and accurate analysis and reporting while introducing valuable insights to the organization. The Intern should possess an analytical mind and technical skills with the ability to derive useful information from data.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIITES

Drive the analytic needs of the business by working with key business stakeholders to develop well defined reporting requests that drive business value
Enhance analytics aimed at providing visibility to the business through the introduction of business intelligence and various metrics
Analyze data, draw conclusions, and provide recommendations aimed at introducing business efficiencies
Scope, research, design, and develop reporting to evaluate various inquiries that may originate from different resources
Visually display and summarize discoveries from data analysis in a graphically pleasing, high-level, easy to understand format/presentation
Summarize approach taken during analyses in order to provide others with valuable tools and insights that they can leverage within their business unit(s)
Create accurate documentation, which may include business requirements, customer requirements, or technical specifications, that can be utilized in future reporting
Support implemented DW/BI solutions by monitoring data loads and addressing user questions concerning data integrity
Able to pull data with data warehouse fact tables and add new tables/data as business requirements dictate
Manage the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) data process which populates the tables in Data warehouse/database



JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must meet the following minimum requirements:

Strong background with Tableau required
Understanding of Alteryx and available add-on data packages preferred
Previous experience with market survey research tools
Good understanding of data warehouse concepts
Instrumental in the analysis, design, and build of custom reporting utilizing different technologies
Strong analytical skills along with detail-oriented nature
Data-driven mindset while also understanding potential courses of action based on the data
Strong knowledge of SQL and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) a plus
Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements
Excellent communicator and team player who relates well to others
Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to be flexible
Self-driven with a keen sense of delivering completed projects in a timely manner
