New Media Web Intern

Job Summary

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (including, but not limited to):

• The New Media Web Intern will have daily responsibilities including, without limitation, the following:
• Assist with daily and long-term maintenance website, including page updates, article posts and video posts
• Record interviews, transcribe and edit
• Assist in producing site photography and photo galleries
• Other duties as assigned

 NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Must be motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills
• Will adjust work schedule to meet departmental demands
• Will keep appropriate information confidential
• Will accept other responsibilities and duties required by the supervisor consistent with the  objectives and essential functions of this position. Such responsibilities shall be incorporated  into the position description if they are ongoing.

  QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed Bachelor’s degree in Website management, Journalism, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or Communications
• Strong written and oral communication skills 
• Poise and the ability to present him or herself to others with professionalism and maturity
• An energetic and self-motivated attitude
• Comfortable speaking with professional athletes and coaches in both a work setting and within the context of an interview
• Candidates should have experience in the areas of communications, journalism, written communication and basic web and graphic design
• Experience with Adobe web elements (e.g. Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator) strongly preferred
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer) required
• Must successfully pass a background check
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
