Job Summary


JOB SUMMARY
As a key member of the Toronto Blue Jays Spring Training staff, the role of a Jays Shop Member is to welcome Toronto Blue Jays Spring Training fans to the Jays Shop and to assist them during their shopping experience.  We cross train employees in the following areas:  Cashier (store and mobile kiosk), Inventory/Floor Replenisher, and Door Greeter/Security.  


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to guests by greeting each customer, helping guests locate desired merchandise & suggest specific products as directed

  • Maintain a clean and well-organized shop layout

  • Check to ensure all products are adequately stocked, priced, and available for customers to purchase

  • Assist Jays Shop Supervisor with their needs 

  • Daily Open and Close activities – including but not limited to vacuuming, glass cleaning, inventory filling, organizing shop, empting hangers, etc. 

  • Kindly enforce no food or drink policy & capacity limits of shop

  • Check bags and receipts of customers exiting shop - loss prevention 

  • Process merchandise sales transactions utilizing a Point of Sale (POS) system – cash and credit card handling (for cashiers & mobile kiosk only).  Past cash & credit handling preferred.  



QUALIFICATIONS
Required



  • Must be available to work all Spring Training home games including weekend, holiday and evening hours and additional non game day hours, including orientation and training. 

  • Able to work outdoors in varied climates for up to 10 hours; specifically must be available 4 hours prior to game time and approximately 1 hour after game.

  • Prior customer service experience in a fast paced retail environment a plus

  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of the Toronto/Dunedin Blue Jays 

  • Maintain a professional image by adhering to the dress guidelines 

  • Represent and promote the Toronto Blue Jays professionally to all guests

  • Possess a positive attitude and remain self-motivated throughout each event

 
Physical Requirements
·        Capable of light lifting up to 40 lbs
·        Ability to stand for entire length of shift & walk throughout stadium (if needed)
·        May be required to work in confined/narrow spaces
