Crystal Springs Uplands School seeks a full-time Upper School Athletics Director starting
July 1, 2019. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience as an Athletic
Director (or other relevant experience) and a B.A. (Masters Degree preferred). The Upper
School Athletic Director will arrive at a particularly exciting moment for CSUS: the school is in
the midst of expanding its US enrollment to 350 students. With strong support from a committed
administration and Board, the Upper School Athletic Director is poised to help write the exciting
next athletic chapter in Crystal’s history.

A successful candidate in this position will:
? Oversee and develop the Upper School Athletics Program by:
? Coordinating the US Athletics program schedule of practices, games,
transportation and officials
? Recruiting, hiring, on-boarding and evaluating all Upper School coaches in
compliance with the CIF, as well as federal, state, and local laws
? Ensuring that the athletics program, students, and coaches adhere to CSUS’s
values, mission and expectations
? Managing the US Athletics program budget
? Demonstrate commitment to equitable and culturally responsive teaching and coaching
practices
? Cultivate an inclusive, collaborative, and challenging learning environment
? Possess excellent oral and written communications skills
? Possess an excellent work ethic, positive outlook and sense of humor
? Handle sensitive issues and crises with skill, diplomacy and/or discretion
? Exhibit strong teaching and mentoring skills and passion for working with high school
students
