Job Summary

The Assistant Coach will assist the head coach with all phases of administering a successful Division I program. Included in this role will be to:

  • Evaluate and identify prospective student-athletes, travel to recruiting events both nationally and internationally.
  • Coordinate the recruiting calendar, develop the recruit mailing sequence and monitor weekly phone calls, emails, and text messages.
  • Set up and organize official and unofficial recruiting visits.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of tactical strategies into daily practice sessions.
  • Must be available for all practices, individuals, fitness workouts, matches, and team events to provide constructive coaching and mentoring.
  • Work with individual student-athletes to develop and enhance skills with both on court and video sessions.
  • Responsible for coordinating all aspects of team travel, including hotel arrangements, flights, food, and bus transportation.
  • Work closely with the head coach to determine team travel schedule.
  • Perform various office duties including, but not limited to, maintaining academic profiles on prospective student-athletes, answering phone calls, emails, and text messages, completing compliance forms, completing TeamWorks time management schedule, and ordering equipment/apparel for student-athletes.
  • Oversee the student team manager position for the team.
  • Assist with various aspects of coordinating summer camp.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor degree required. Multiple years of coaching experience at the Division 1 collegiate level and/or professional level is required. Multiple years of playing experience on a competitive level is required. Must possess extensive knowledge of the sport as well as its skills and strategies. Strong organization and communication skills are necessary to effectively complete job tasks. Must have the ability to build trust and form positive, healthy, professional relationships. Vast knowledge of NCAA and rules and regulations required. Candidate must have an appreciation and understanding of the academic/athletic balance required of student-athletes at a highly selective and competitive academic institution.
