JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Community Engagement and Public Relations Manager position is part of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and PPL Center marketing team. This position will be responsible for managing the community outreach programs for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and PPL Center as well as all Public Relations for both Phantoms and PPL Center
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as a contact with all community engagement partners to ensure we are successfully involved and appear at events well organized, professional and engaging with our community in a fun manner
Strengthen programs already in place and explore new opportunities to increase our Community reach
Responsible for day to day coordination of all community events and promotional projects including assignments, direction and execution upon deadline
Perform the Phantoms School assembly programs (candidate must be comfortable speaking to audiences of over 1,000 students and teachers).
Perform as MC at various Phantoms and PPL Center special events (including school programs and private events)
Responsible for oversight of the Phantoms and PPL center's overall communication strategy via traditional media and community relations.
Responsible for all communication related initiatives relating to the Phantoms Hockey and PPL Center
Read, proof and approve all organizational printed material
Responsible for proofing all organizational written content
Responsible for community relations request, including, but not limited to player/coach public appearances, etc.
Responsible for creating and maintaining positive, consistent relationships with local and national media outlets
Responsible for releasing all organization related news
Responsible for the communication and release of all player transactions in conjunction with hockey operations
Responsible for the generation of game notes on game days
Responsible for all AHL-related media relations initiatives
Responsible for set up of press box in compliance with AHL standards
Responsible for sending opponent teams our team roster and player bios and other required materials
Responsible for communicating statistical data to off-ice officials when necessary
Responsible for post-game press conference coordination and facilitation
Responsible for delivery of game notes to hockey operations staff
Responsible for media room set up on game days
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
4 year College Degree. Concentration in Public Relations, Marketing or Business perferred
1-2 years of work experience in Community engagement, marketing or public relations
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work across multiple projects
Strong Organization Skills
Teamwork skills as well as ability to work independently and self-motivate
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays
Strong analytical skills
Ability to problem solve and create solutions to issues and a changing environment quickly
Ability to lift 30lbs
