Community & Fan Engagement Internship

Job Summary

• Manage all social media accounts for the Peoria Chiefs


• Create and monitor daily content and fan engagement on all social media platforms


• Keep fans engaged during home games on all social media platforms


• Help grow all Chiefs social media platforms


• Create and execute Chiefs Memes and Gifs.


• Work with Chiefs partners to promote local and national partnerships on social media


• Follow social media trends regionally and nationally through the industry to keep the Chiefs relevant and on the cutting edge of social media


• Travel to events with Homer, the Chiefs mascot, or other staff members/players and capture content to spread across social media


• Keep track of money spent on social media advertising


• Plan and coordinate community relations events


• Fulfill donation requests


• Work with local charities and community organizations 


• Help expand the Chiefs reach in Central Illinois through various community events

• Commitment to working all 70 home games, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.


• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

• General Information: Interns must be available to participate full-time, including evenings, weekends and holidays.  On non-event days the hours are generally 9:00AM-5:00PM Monday through Friday (plus possible evenings, weekends and holidays for player and/or mascot appearances, facility events and other special circumstances).  On event days generally start at 9:00AM and ends after the event (sometimes as late or later than 11:00PM). 


• In addition all interns have the opportunities to assist with various aspects of operating the stadium such as receiving shipments, pulling tarp, facility events (college & high school baseball games and private parties) and limited reception phone coverage.
