Overview of the United Soccer League (USL)

United Soccer League is one of the largest operators of soccer properties in the United States. USL currently owns and operates a Division II professional league (USL), a Division III professional league (launching in 2019), a pre-professional U23 league (PDL), and an elite level youth soccer league (Super Y League). Headquartered in Tampa, Florida, the USL provides unparalleled club support with a growing team of more than 50 professionals across 17 departments, ranging from operations to digital, communications, and club services.



Position Purpose

The Manager, Events will coordinate overall planning and execution of various events put on by United Soccer Leagues, LLC (USL, USL Division III, PDL, and Super Y League). This position will work closely with all departments at the league office to ensure each event is successfully executed.



Duties and Responsibilities

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

- Assist with the planning and execution of various events put on by USL, including but not limited to corporate meetings, championship games, and tournaments.

- Plan and execute a variety of conferences and summits throughout the year.

- Work closely with the Business Development team on new vendor acquisition and renewals.

- Oversee all event-based inventories and logistics.

- Coordinate internal communication between departments including but not limited to Digital, Social Media, Operations, Finance, and Video Productions.

- Coordinate external event communications including but not limited to registration, updates, announcements, etc.

- Assist in the acquisition of temporary/ volunteer staff members for youth tournament.

- Assist with the planning and execution of internal Team Member events.

- Work within an established budget while finding ways to cut cost and generate new revenue streams.

- Participate in weekly meetings with pertinent department personnel to cover individual task updates, overall project timelines, and brainstorm new ideas for improving future event operations.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Business Administration, or related field required.

- 2-4 years of event related experience required.
- Previous experience planning and managing conference style events is highly preferred.

- Attention to detail is a MUST.

- Sales experience preferred.

- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a busy environment with minimal supervision.

- Experience with Wrike (or similar project management software) and Formstack, preferred.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is necessary.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary, with strong presentation skills.

- Position requires frequent travel and varying hours.

- Must be prepared to work as business needs require, which may include long days, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.

- Must have U.S. work authorization.
