Job Summary

Overview


Responsible for the day to day support and maintenance of our wired and wireless networks. Provides first line troubleshooting of network related issues, participates in implementation and upgrade projects, and processes change management requests.


Responsibilities



  • Diagnose/troubleshoot network related issues

  • Oversee network monitoring infrastructure and ensure that notifications are sent for critical events

  • Support the League’s Wide Area Network that connects the League Office with clubs

  • Ensure reliable Wi-Fi coverage exists throughout offices and troubleshoot coverage and throughput issues

  • Review network change management requests and implement changes on network devices

  • Perform firmware upgrades to network devices during periodic maintenance windows

  • Support SAML SSO, MFA, and RADIUS authentication systems, primarily including user and device management in addition to troubleshooting issues as they arise

  • Support VPN Remote Access system and oversee the distribution of software updates to end users

  • Maintain network documentation, inventory, and diagrams

  • Ensure that all network devices are configured and maintained in accordance with the League’s Cyber Security standards


 


Additional Responsibilities



  • Assist with training staff and Service Desk team

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned


Qualifications


Education and Experience



  • Bachelor’s Degree in an IT-related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in information technology

  • Minimum of 3 years working primarily with network devices and technologies

  • Experience with Cisco switches and Fortinet firewalls

  • Experience with a large scale network monitoring platform such as Manage Engine, Riverbed, Solar Winds, Nagios, WhatsUp, etc


Required Skills



  • Demonstrated methodical troubleshooting ability

  • Working knowledge of Wi-Fi concepts and standards (802.11, RF)

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally

  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision


Desired Skills



  • Experience supporting/managing a cloud-based authentication/Single Sign-On provider

  • Experience supporting Voice over IP

  • Knowledge of the sport of soccer

  • Ability to travel and to occasionally work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
