Job Summary

JOB PURPOSE

The Manager, Brand Creatives is responsible for infusing a strong & impactful Paralympic Brand that is present and consistent with overall Communications and Brand strategy in all activations (CPC campaigns & external partners) while providing valuable ROI to stakeholders.

The role will focus on executing, tracking and reporting on brand activities that maximize the profile and recognition of Paralympic Sport across Canada. He/ she will oversee the creative development of the overall look and style of CPC and its Foundation’s publications, advertising campaigns, video content and graphics. In addition, he/she will also be responsible for brand management of all CPC marks and brand guidelines approvals including but not limited to artwork photography and graphics developed by external agencies and internal staff.

The Manager, Brand Creatives will be required to oversee a variety of contactors and activities simultaneously, while always demonstrating initiative, balancing multiple priorities and consistently exhibiting strong project execution skills. The Manager, Brand Creatives is expected to manage relationships, as well as producing key brand marketing materials.

Primary Responsibilities

  •   Brand Story: Ensures consistency in brand activations as it relates to the CPC’s “brand story” and messaging in all of CPC’s brand material

  •   Brand consistency: making sure the logo(s), trademarks, branding elements (fonts, colors, etc.) are used consistently across products, publications and special events

  •   Brand awareness and tracking: Overseeing the production of Brand collateral while delivering strategies and tactics to the market with the intent to make them aware of the brand and track changes through market research in how the brand is perceived

  •   Brand Management: Overseeing the creative process and sign off of all CPC brand marketing collateral

  •   Brand ROI: Establishing brand marketing benchmarks for CPC related campaigns (brand awareness, fundraising, recruitment). Managing critical path for CPC stakeholder deliverables as it relates to the Communications and Brand department

    Key Activities

  •   Supports the Communications & Marketing Team to meet its objectives outlined in its strategic plan

  •   Manages production of required brand marketing assets for CPC special events, Paralympic Games, and promotional campaigns

  •   Works collaboratively with the Manager of Content and Digital Media in the delivery strategy for Paralympic branded content (video, photos, infographics)

  •   Represents the CPC and work closely with internal CPC departments, external individuals and organizations (e.g. Advertising agencies, printing and production companies, sub-contractors) to realize communications and brand marketing objectives

  •   Contributes to the development of the communications and brand marketing strategy as well as to the monitoring and evaluation of related projects and activations

  •   Creates quarterly reports on CPC brand activities using analytics and market research

  •   Oversees process for dealing with ambush marketing Qualifications

    Education

    Related post-secondary education in the field of communications, marketing, graphic design, or equivalent experience.

Knowledge and Skills

  •   Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in communications, advertising, brand and digital marketing for sport and/or not-for-profit organizations

  •   Skilled graphic designed with established portfolio

  •   Active interest and involvement in communications & marketing community and

    knowledge of related trends considered an asset

  •   Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with both internal and

    external colleagues (e.g. CPC peers & supervisors, athletes, suppliers, sub-

    contractors)

  •   Exhibits strong program/project management skills

  •   Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills, in both official languages

  •   Proficient computer skills for:

    •   Graphic design, graphic animation and desktop publishing

    •   Illustration

    •   Digital media

    •   Project management

    •   Presentation development

  •   Knowledge of the sport system considered an asset

    Experience

  •   Minimum 5 years’ experience in, graphic design, advertising agency, communications, marketing, preferably in sport or not-for-profit organizations

  •   Experience overseeing the design and production of brand marketing collateral

  •   Experience in brand management and/or sports marketing considered an asset

  •   Experience working with external suppliers, volunteers

Working Conditions
