Job Summary

P/T News Editor with sound news judgment and a self-starter is needed for afternoons and possibly some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities:

• Will assist in producing afternoon news show.
• Familiarity with on-line website maintenance to update the KGMI web news for the AM and social media savvy needed to help share and promote KGMI news content via social outlets.
• Write broadcast scripts for local news stories and follow up on news beat leads and breaking news. Will write for afternoon news and for next morning news program.
• Ability to run a broadcast board.

Job Requirements:

• Journalism / broadcast experience required.
• Proficient in MS Word, social networking platforms, and the web.  Graphic Design proficiency is a plus.
• Individual must work well under deadline pressures and think quickly on his/her feet.
• Accuracy and journalistic integrity a must.
• Some weekend and holiday work is required.
