Intern, Communications

The Communications Internship is a full-time paid (minimum wage) internship position beginning in January 2018 and ending in December 2018. The Communications Intern supports the day-to-day operations of the Communications Department, as directed.

Essential Functions:

• Aiding in the day-to-day operations and media requests.
• Preparing statistical reports as needed for executive and coaching staff.
• Proofreading Marlins game notes during regular season; printing and distributing all game day materials for press box for Marlins and visiting PR.
• Assisting during press events and press conferences as needed and helping publicize the Marlins’ charitable, community, and marketing efforts through press releases. 
• Responsible for compiling digital news clips of all local media articles pertaining to the organization.
• Copying and distributing daily clips to front office staff.
• Assisting in production of team publications, including regular season and post season media guides, gameday program, and alumni newsletter.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Extremely organized, detail oriented, accountable and self-sufficient. 
• Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Possess excellent computer skills that include, but are not limited to, Word, Excel, Desktop Publishing (InDesign). 
• Ability to work during normal business hours, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays.

 Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines:

• Journalism, Communications, or Sports Management degrees preferred.
