Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY

Seeking an outgoing, professional person with excellent communication skills with the ability to multi-task in a fun, fast-paced environment. Ability to assist and comply with the duties assigned by the managers, under the immediate supervision of the Visitor Services Supervisor you will assist in the smooth operation of the museum staff.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS

Will assist in the day to day operations of the Museum including opening/closing functions, welcoming museum visitors with a high level of customer services. Will be responsible for daily rotation/break schedules and have the authority to oversee Attendant functions. The Visitor Services Team is responsible for ensuring a positive experience for the visitor at all times. Assist with the execution of museum programming and special events.

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS

As scheduled assist in monitoring museum floors. Operating the telephone, direct and screen calls, take and relay messages. Assist in training seasonal staff. Perform additional duties as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education

High School Graduate

Experience

Background experience with working with the public and basic computer skills and basic knowledge of baseball history.

Abilities

The ability to communicate, interact with large crowds and to supervise a large staff on a daily basis. Resourcefulness & flexibility is required, as well as the ability to work proactively and independently. Public speaking is a must.

Availability

Be available to work 30-40 hours per week. Be flexible to work weekends, holidays and evenings where necessary and on occasion when you are called in to work on regularly scheduled day off.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Duties may require you to be on your feet for most of the scheduled shift and to work in inclement weather conditions.

TYPICAL EQUIPMENT USED

Two way radios, telephones.

Must consent to, and pass, a criminal background check as conditions of employment.
