Field Maintenance, Grounds Crew
Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Perform general baseball field maintenance, including: preparing, maintaining, and repairing all field, bullpen, and batting cage areas as needed, mound and plate repair, painting, warning track maintenance, batting practice set-up and tear down, tarp pulling, etc.
- Perform turf grass management including: mowing, edging, sodding, aerating, irrigation repairs, as well as assisting with fertilizer and pest control applications.
- General equipment repair and maintenance
- Various other duties as required
- Player transportation
Requirements for Position Include:
- Previous experience in all technical areas of baseball field maintenance, including the use of specialized turf equipment, mowing skills, mound and plate repair, and turf grass replacement.
- Able to perform the following physical tasks: bend, squat, kneel, twist, climb flights of stairs, walk on uneven ground, walk/run up and down ramps, walk and stand for extended periods of time, assist patrons up and down stairs, wipe down seats in sections daily, and give appropriate directions.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis and lift up to 50lbs on an occasional basis
- Demonstrated verbal and communication skills
- Must have the ability to effectively adapt to work environment that is in constant change due to weather
- Pursuing a College Degree
- Valid driver's license
Time Period:
The season runs through June and July, with games played roughly five days a week. All interns will be required to attend (in-person or by conf. call) an introductory meeting in mid-May, a few weeks before the beginning of the season. The internship ends shortly after the conclusion of the season.
Notes:
- The position is un-paid. College credit available upon request.
- Attire: Team will provide Grounds Crew apparel package for Game Day work
- Hours: Varied and long. Gamedays are typically 2:05pm-9:05pm and non-game days are on an as-needed basis to prep field and do any necessary extensive maintenance while Team is away.
- All interns will be required to commit for the duration of the season (exceptions for varying school start/stop dates will be reviewed on an individual basis).
- Hosted Housing is available for out of area applicants.

Arroyo Seco Baseball recruits elite collegiate players from around the country to come to Pasadena, CA and play baseball in the months of June and July. The Arroyo Seco Baseball organization strives to provide entertainment as well as quality baseball for the residents of the San Gabriel Valley.
