RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Senior Data Services Application Engineer, you will be a key part of a team called Enterprise Information Management (EIM). EIM is changing the game here at Nike. You may have heard that data is “the new oil of the global economy.” EIM is working with business and IT partners to leverage data as a key strategic asset within Nike Technology. Nike Technology brings together technology and process expertise to deliver solutions that enable Nike, Inc. businesses and brands worldwide. The Enterprise Information Management team brings broad experience in the practices of Master Data Management (MDM), Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Stewardship, and Data Governance. As a Data Services Application Engineer, you'll bring a broad experience of successfully ideating and delivering value that enables Nike to increase productivity, realize efficiencies and build profitable customer experiences. 

Your primary accountability will be to maintain and mature our Informatica Data Services platform. This includes Data Quality, Data Services (Virtualization), Master Data Management and PowerCenter. You will collaborate with data stewards, information and data architects, subject matter experts, BSAs, and other IT teams to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability, supportability and performance needs. Your role will be critical to driving the improvement of Nike’s Data Management – enabling data to be a strategic asset for the enterprise.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • 2 to 3 years of experience with PL/SQL coding AND UNIX Shell Scripting
  • 2 to 3 years of experience with writing SQL queries, strong SQL query ability
  • 2 to 3 years of experience with Python scripting and GitHub handling
  • ETL experience, Informatica Power Center or Informatica Developer is a plus
  • Informatica Power Center or Informatica Developer development/admin experience is a plus
  • Experience with all of the following DB/Data Warehouse platforms is a plus: Oracle, Teradata, SAP BW, SQL Server
  • SAP ECC knowledge is a plus, particularly communicating with Informatica
  • Experience coding in JAVA (interface creation), JBoss communication, XML would be a plus

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or a related field
  • 5 years professional IT business experience
  • 2 years of additional relevant industry experience in lieu of a degree
  • 2+ years of experience implementing and supporting Informatica is a plus
  • 5+ years programming/analysis/design/administration
  • 2 to 3+ years’ experience with either Oracle and/or DB2/UDB
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at any given time
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs, adjusted processes and ambiguity
  • Ability to communicate effectively and facilitate meetings with both business functional and technical staff
