Job Description

What You’ll Do:

 

STATS is looking for an entry-level Research Analyst.  In this role, you'll be responsible for producing unique statistical content for our industry-leading client base, working with both the media and professional organisations. The role will involve providing research support using internal research tools to analyse sports statistics to generate insights and compelling statistical storylines. This information is provided to clients live during games as well as before and after games. You will also provide reports, both pre- and post-match, and respond to custom research requests directly from clients. 

  • Create custom research reports for broadcast and research clients
  • Provide research support before, during and after games
  • Handle statistical requests from clients with accurate and timely responses
  • Apply internal research tools to generate compelling statistical storylines
  • Use software tools to create data visualizations
  • Contribute to group projects for big events
  • Regularly work nights and/or weekends

Skills & Requirements

What You’ll Need:

  • A 2:1 degree in a relevant field or higher
  • A strong familiarity with and interest in professional sports, specifically football and rugby
  • Ability to analyse sports statistics and present them for us in a media environment
  • Ability to communicate interesting and relevant statistical storylines in a compelling manner
  • Ability to work well with others in a team atmosphere
  • Ability to produce error-free work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience in statistical research and analysis in the sports field
  • Experience in sports television production
  • Experience with PL/SQL coding
  • Experience with Tableau data visualization software
  • Experience with Photoshop
  • Experience with Atlassian suite of tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)
