Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY Responsible for converting qualified sponsorship prospects to clients by successfully conducting telephone sales calls, emails and meetings with both new and existing customers.
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS Hours will vary, but will include evenings, weekends, holidays and long hours on game days.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Office is part of baseball operations and staff must be located to meet with visitors or take calls. Our work environment is fast paced and at times very stressful.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Sit and use personal computer for long periods. Have the ability to move up to 40 pounds. Physically access all areas of the ballpark quickly and safely and assist with pulling field tarp when needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OFFICE MANAGEMENT
1. Make cold calls to area companies to sell advertising/sponsorships.
2. Actively prospect and research new sales leads in a highly efficient way.
3. Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals.
4. Maintain computerized records of all customers.
5. Provide superior customer service to clients and execute their sponsorship elements to the maximum as promised/contracted to them.
6. Willingness to work as a team player, trainable to guidelines and structures set forth by team.
7. Attend staff meetings to stay informed on franchise needs.
8. Communicate with related departments such as Promotions, Accounting, Catering, Marketing, Operations and Upper Management.
9. Additional duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Professional: Minimum of one (1) year experience, college degree required, computer hardware and software proficiency preferred - Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word specifically. Knowledge of all software programs used for sales and ticketing. Ability to utilize customer service skills throughout the entire sales process.
Personal: Project a positive image to internal (employees) and external (fans, vendors) customers. Communicate effectively and professionally at all times. Display strong leadership skills, exercise excellent managerial judgement, ability to perform multiple tasks at one time, clean and neat at all times, team builder and team player. Aggressive, competitive and committed to the sports industry. Previous sales experience with a sports organization a must.
